Born in 1980 in Beijing, China. A young graduate of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, Chen Man began her career as a photographer by making numerous covers for the magazine Vision, a monthly magazine dedicated to fashion.
At only 29, she has already produced numerous covers for fashion magazines. Chen Man is the emerging “star” of fashion photography in China. Young and talented, she has developed her own photographic style, mainly featuring women whose beauty she sublimates, while arousing our curiosity through incongruous elements in the compositions. If we analyze the magnificent backgrounds, we discover factory smoke, fish with shimmering scales like jewels, a futuristic city where plans are tilted, facades engulfed in a silky material. Here again a rocket on its launch pad seems to remind us of an industrial reality. Fabulous colors, smoothness of the skin, hyper-worked make-up, dazzling freshness and mastery of the 3D technique, make his work a unique creation.
From advertising photographer, Chen Man became an artist. She exhibits her works in the best museums and galleries in China where she is considered one of the most promising talents of her generation. In the spring of 2008, she participated in the “China Design” exhibition at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, for which one of her photos was chosen as a poster.
