Bernard Quentin

Born in 1923 in the Somme department, Bernard Quentin is a painter, sculptor and major designer at the École de Paris.

 

At the end of the 2nd World War, he was one of the most active members of the Saint-Germain-des-Prés gang with Boris Vian, Juliette Gréco, Jean-paul Sartre and the others…

 

Bernard Quentin has developed a unique work around writing and spelling, which some have qualified as “semiotic art” or “scriptural art”.

 

Bernard Quentin passed away in 2020 at the respectable age of 97.
