Douglas Kirkland

Douglas Kirkland is a Canadian photographer, born August 16, 1934 in Toronto. The famous Hollywood photographer, captures iconic images of Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor, Brigitte Bardot, Coco Chanel and Diana Ross, among others, and he is best known for his portraits of Marilyn Monroe. Kirkland worked as a photographer on over 100 films, and in 1995 he received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the American motion pictures Society of Operating Cameramen.

 

Kirkland receives numerous awards including Art Director’s Club of New York, International Museum of Photography, Fotofusion, PhotoImaging, America Film Institute, Manufacturers and Distributors Association (PMDA), Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Lucie Foundation Awards.
